Can you describe the SMC problem more detailed?

I also have SMC2802W card and sometimes the iwconfig calls doesn't work. I 
the bootup script the command for setting master/enc/acl fail without an 
error message. Sometimes it even looks like the card is stop working 
without any reason. If this is a SMC specific problem I think I will get a 
different card.
