Hi all,
I'm experiencing a problem with the throughput with SMC 2802w, with 2.6.7
vanilla kernel.
When starting to transfer files for example with ftp, a process called
kdldrd/dpc starts consuming a lot of CPU-time:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
1259 root 0 -20 0 0 0 S 36.8 0.0 4:45.68 kdldrd/dpc
1884 eran 15 0 4648 2572 3892 S 12.4 2.0 0:06.83 proftpd
And the throughput is around ~11Mb/s even when the card is set to 54Mb/s.
The server itself is a AMD K6-2 400MHz, so it basically can perform up to
~30Mb/s via 100Mb/s ethernet (tested). Should I go and shop a faster PC, or
is there a workaround for this CPU-consumption?
Thank you.
Here are the details of this setup:
