As practice has proved he was probably wrong. :) Although I added the patch
you've given me I could not ioctl the device although I could see it. This
should be a proof that it doesn't work with the prism54. 

However isn't it strange that the card has been mentioned in the supported
cards list and ever more has 15 successful installations?!?
