I can confirm that. I'm also seeing those "queue empty, retrying"
messages.

Turning off ACPI (booting with acpi=off is sufficient for 2.4, but not
for 2.6) will make the card (SMC 2835W) work.

However this notebook does require ACPI to work properly, so I can
only wait until the problem gets fixed.
