I just installed linux redhat 9(I downloaded from the redhat site this
weekend) on my dell P4 2.66 ghz dell machine. My standard ethernet card is
active and working but I can not get my wireless card to work at all with
this system. I am very new to Linux and unfamiliar(although I have tried) to
makefile and cook kernel, etc.
I came upon your site and am willing and planning on replacing my existing
wireless PCI card
Linksys 802.11g WMP54G PCI Broadcom

which seems to be near impossible to get to work with LINUX

with the
<http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?sec=Products&pg=Product-Details&prod=291&site=
c> SMC2802W - EZ Connect g 2.4GHz 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Card that you guys
have recommended. I am going to pick it up at comp usa today.
What I was hoping you would do for me is give me some simple instructions on
how to install this sucker.
I am not sure which items to download and what commands I need to use to
install them.
I am assuming I am using the latest kernel, but will double check.

Any help would be appreciated. I have had enough of windows, but this is a
little trickier than I thought.
