Yes, /sbin/hotplug exists and runs /etc/hotplug.d/default/default.hotplug
and /etc/hotplug/pci.agent and /etc/hotplug/usb.agent when I boot (I can see
that in /var/log/messages.
root # cat /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
/sbin/hotplug
But when I do
root # modprobe prism54
I see no activity from hotplug scripts, except sometimes an Oops in
default.hotplug, net.hotplug or bash.
root # lspci -n
pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci/02/00.0
