No, his problem is he unzipped the package before patching it and then fail=
ed to copy the other files into the kernel source directory. As the directi=
ons say, you should do:

cd /usr/src/linux
bzip2 -cd /path/to/patch-2.x-prism54.patch.bz2 | patch -p1

This not only patches the kernel, but also extracts the other needed files =
into the kernel source directory.
