[Prism54-users] System reboot with Prism54 Drivers

I am currently running RH9 with an upgraded kernel (2.4.23-rc5), on a
ProStar 5614 with a built in (miniPCI, I think) 802.11g card. The card
is a prism chipset, lspci identifies it as a 3890. After compiling the
drivers as modules with the kernel rebuild, I struggle with loading the
drivers.

Sometimes, modprobe prism54 causes an immediate shutdown of the system.
Sometimes it works for random period of time before the shutdown. And
sometimes, it works fine for hours without a crash. I am currently
running with apm off and acpi off, and have recompiled the drivers,
kernel, and hotplug a couple of times. At this point, I am at a loss. No
information seems to be written to any logs before the crash. The system
just turns off.

Ideas?
