I apologize for my previous message, I made one of that stupid mistakes of mine:

When submitting the previous message I wasn't using the latest version of the
module, since I forgot a previous one under "/lib/modules/2.6.1/extra/", so the
shiny new module was never loaded. A "rm" of the old one and a "depmod" later,
the problem dissapeared, and things got far better.

I can't say the card is working, though, since I have no open AP near at the
time of this writing, and there are some other errors in syslog. But I can't say
if they're related to this bug, so I post them here and let the gurus decide if
this one is closed or not.
