The problem seems to still be there.

For me, appears every time the card is trying to transmit/receive. That means 
every time I try iwconfig, iwlist, etc... I get a number of "entry in queue not 
found yet" messages. It does not depend on the status of the card while on boot 
(plugged/unplugged).

Card: SMC EZ Connect 2835W
Firmware: 1.0.4.3
Kernel: 2.6.1
OS: Debian unstable
Wireless-tools: >26

(BTW, I found the card chip is labelled ISL 3880)
