Local wireless requirements suggest forcing the card to 11MBps  mode.  Changing
bitrates as suggested causes an error message from driver.  card does not
connect to DHCP server.  Other requirements include WEP key, Open authentication
(why have the key?), ESSID, 802.11b compliance.  Bug reports "cannot set
bitrate".  Perhaps order of commands?  I do not know which order is best.

Error message follows:

ERROR for wireless request "Set BitRate"   (8B20)   :
  Set failed on device eth0;  Input/Output Error.


I have tried 11, 11M, auto and none work.
