We are waiting on Globespanvirata :
Dear Sirs,
In the past, Intersil contributed to the Linux open source development
by providing open source drivers. This has since been replaced and
totally
rewritten with completely GPL'ed source at http://prism54.org.
However, any driver for this chipset requires a firmware file.
We (that is the Prism54 project and myself) request that you support
this by making available the firmware to the open source community.
This can be achieved by :
         a) Making a download link available on your home page for various
versions of the firmware (eg. 1.0.3.0, 1.0.4.3, etc)
         b) Providing a statement that redistribution of the firmware is
allowed.

I hope that Globespanvirata is following in the footsteps of Intersil
in supporting the open source community.

         Thanking you in anticipation.

         Yours sincerely

         Margit Schubert-While
