[Prism54-users] more WG511/IRQ issues

Hello, everyone----

First, let's take care of the obvious: I have a "Made in Taiwan" card,
purchased about eight months ago, with no version on the label (which,
according to Netgear, means it's an original:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/wg511.asp ).  More significantly,
the card runs with at least one version of the prism54 driver: that's
how I'm connected right now. Thus, this is not a "Made in China" or
SoftMAC issue unless I've really seriously failed to comprehend what's
happening.  Moving on . . .

The card runs fine under a stock 2.6.7 kernel (which has the 1.1
driver). I haven't gotten it to run under any later kernels. My latest
attempts have been with 2.6.11-rc1 using both the stable 1.2 driver and
the latest (27 Apr) CVS, and am getting the standard errors:
Apr 27 16:43:38 wretched kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:13.0 (0000 -> 0002)
Apr 27 16:43:38 wretched kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKC] enabled at IRQ 11
Apr 27 16:43:38 wretched kernel: PCI: setting IRQ 11 as level-triggered
Apr 27 16:43:38 wretched kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:13.1 (0000 -> 0002)
Apr 27 16:43:38 wretched kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKD] enabled at IRQ 11
Apr 27 16:43:40 wretched kernel: PCI: 0000:01:00.0 has unsupported PM cap regs version (1)
Apr 27 16:43:40 wretched kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:01:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
Apr 27 16:43:44 wretched kernel: eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
Apr 27 16:43:45 wretched kernel: eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
Apr 27 16:43:45 wretched kernel: eth0: interface reset failure
Apr 27 16:43:45 wretched kernel: prism54: Your card/socket may be faulty, or IRQ line too busy :(
Apr 27 16:43:49 wretched kernel: eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
Apr 27 16:43:50 wretched kernel: eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
Apr 27 16:43:50 wretched kernel: eth0: interface reset failure
Apr 27 16:43:50 wretched kernel: prism54: Your card/socket may be faulty, or IRQ line too busy :(

etc. If driver 1.1 compiles under later kernels than 2.6.7, I can try
that, or I can try later versions of 2.6.11. I haven't attempted that
yet simply because I haven't the space to keep multiple copies of the
kernel source on this laptop. I would love to try 1.1 with a 2.6.11
kernel just to more or less rule out all the ACPI changes that have
gone into the kernel, but 1.1 doesn't compile and I lack the skill to
muck about with the kernel-driver PCI interface without explicit
instructions.

I know that a lot of people are reporting similar errors, but most
never got their cards to work with prism54. I just want to make sure
that it's not assumed that this is always a SoftMAC error. (O, and
the pci=routeirq suggested on bug121 did nothing for me, either.)
Anyone have any further suggestions?

Trimmed lspci output for 2.6.7 and 2.6.11-rc1 are appended--more
information is available if requested. The only differences are that
MemWINV is toggled and cache line size is added to .11.
