Hello. It's me again... sorry :-(
A few months ago I managed to set-up my prism54 card,
thanks to the help from people in this list.
Now that I have upgraded the system (from Fedora Core 2
to Fedora Core 3) it doesn't work again.
Briefly, if I do a:
rmmod prism54 ; modprobe prism54
dmesg -c
I get this:
eth0: removing device
Unloaded prism54 driver
Loaded prism54 driver, version 1.2
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:0a.0[A] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
ip_tables: (C) 2000-2002 Netfilter core team
eth0: resetting device...
eth0: uploading firmware...
prism54: request_firmware() failed for 'isl3890'
eth0: could not upload firmware ('isl3890')
eth0: islpci_reset: failure
I checked all the things from the past emails
and the README on prism54 site. See the output of these
commands:
#> cat /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
/sbin/hotplug
#> /sbin/hotplug
AgentName values on this system: dasd firmware ieee1394 input net pci scsi tape usb
#> /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent
Firmware '' event not supported
#> ls -l /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/
total 192
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 93996 Jul 3 2004 isl3880
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 93996 Jul 3 2004 isl3890
Also, the kernel is 2.6.11-1.14_FC3 and I have updated
all the package in the system with their respective stable
versions....
Any idea? I've spent all sunday on this... :-(
Thank you,
Franco
