I have a 3CRWE154G72 v.1 that works well, so I bought a 2^one. They shipped
a version 2.0 and I can't make it work:

Under Mepis distribution says 'it can be faulty' under sarge kern.log shows:

Apr  4 09:56:25 bluff kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:06:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)

# ifup eth0

Apr  4 09:57:54 bluff kernel: eth0: islpci_open()
Apr 4 09:57:54 bluff kernel: eth0: resetting device...
Apr 4 09:57:54 bluff kernel: eth0: uploading firmware...
Apr 4 09:57:54 bluff kernel: eth0: firmware uploaded done, now triggering reset...

And it does not work. At that point if I extract it from the slot I
normally have problems inserting the working card. xload shows hight
activity and I need to reboot the pc.

Before I dig into the problem I'd like to know if it should be supported by
the driver even the version 2.0.

I also have a Netgear WG511 but when received I discovered it is a "made in
china" so that it does not work. Is there a card that work *for sure*?

Thanks for any possible hint
