Using tcpspray I measured about 18 Mb/s using discard and about 9 Mb/s
in each direction using echo between and SMC 2802W (PCI )and SMC 2835W
(PCMCIA) (each card in separate computer).
Using pktgen (ie one udp stream, from other computer) I measured about
4.5 Mb/s with 2 SMC 2802W in one computer (the pktgen run on other
computer to avoid stealing cpu cycles from promise54, there is an arp
entry for the second cards MAC to make the packets be transmited). When
placed the data handling in the irq routine first, I measured about 9Mb/s.
