yeah, thanks all for the replies.
as mcgrof, pointed out earlier, the GT supports 'iwlist scan' now.

so, again, my question is as earlier. does the GT scan ad-hoc ap's using iwlist? 
as per aquilas reply, it would seem it does? 

and is it using the iwlist that comes with wireless-tools without any GT-specific modifications? or have the guys made some changes?
