Hi all,
When I try to load the module I am getting this error:
/lib/modules/2.4.23-pre9/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/prism54/prism54.o
/lib/modules/2.4.23-pre9/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/prism54/prism54.o: =
unresolved symbol request_firmware_Rsmp_38ce5074
/lib/modules/2.4.23-pre9/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/prism54/prism54.o: =
unresolved symbol release_firmware_Rsmp_33934162
Then I was thinking "request_firmware_Rsmp_38ce5074" mmmm the word =
firmware is also there.....
So I was looking for a module with "firmware" in it and came up with =
this module: firmware_class
My next step was, you could guess:
insmod firmware_class
insmod prism54
guess what, that part is working. No more insmod errors. This also =
awakens my other network card, the realtek8139. BUT when I used iwconfig =
my kernel crached. Telling me the following:
Kernel BUG at islpci_mgt.c:146
<and some more blah blah.....>
This doens't happen when I do the following:
modprobe -r 8139too
insmod firmware_class
insmod prism54
modprobe 8139too
What is going wrong or what is going on?
Also, if I don't 'modprobe -r 8139too' first, before insmodding prism54. =
My networkcards are 'named' like:
eth0 3c59x
eth1 8139too [does not load at boot time]
eth2 prism54 [does not load at boot time]
Although this is in my /etc/modules.conf file:
alias eth0 3c59x
alias eth1 prism54
alias eth2 8139too
output of /proc/interrupts:
CPU0 CPU1
0: 6277 7553 IO-APIC-edge timer
1: 2 2 IO-APIC-edge keyboard
2: 0 0 XT-PIC cascade
8: 0 1 IO-APIC-edge rtc
10: 2683 2611 IO-APIC-level ide3, eth2
11: 4206727 4207016 IO-APIC-level aic7xxx, eth1
12: 221 196 IO-APIC-level eth0, PS/2 Mouse
14: 0 2 IO-APIC-edge ide0
15: 1307 1529 IO-APIC-edge ide1
What is wrong this time?
Grtz,
Hugo
