well, free_netdev was added to 2.4.23pre# sometime... it wasn't in
2.4.22... as a hack(!), you could replace free_netdev by kfree 

but I'm wondering whether you'll have alloc_netdev... since that was
added in 2.4.23pre too...

(btw, the readme says the driver is targeted at 2.4.23+ and 2.6.0+)
