[Prism54-users] Status of Managment Functions ?

tested with 1104 tar---
CONFIRMING:
iwlist eth1 scan - now working in both managed and ad-hoc modes
iwlist eth1 freq - better looking list but the channel numbers are not =
"wireless tools" or 802.11 standard.
And my card can't do the 5.x GHz freqs so they should not be listed.
NEWLY BROKEN:
Ad-Hoc : Set CARD_DEFAULT_BSSTYPE to DOT11_BSSTYPE_IBSS, rebuild and =
reload. Iwconfig shows ad-hoc mode which is correct, but the card is not =
visible to windows-based site survey. It was visible and working in =
1103 tar(I could select and ping from windows). Strangely, the =
configured-as-'ad-hoc' card show up in its own scan but is invisible to =
windows. The iwconfig display is correct.
STILL NOT WORKING:
iwconfig eth1 frequency 2.xxxG - does not change freq in "iwconfig =
eth1" or "iwlist eth1 freq" status displays.
(channel number set correctly by isl_pci_mgmt_initialize() at boot)
iwconfig eth1 channel n - does not change iwconfig status display
iwconfig eth1 mode ad-hoc - does not change from managed to ad-hoc
Keep up the progress. Let me know if I should check out more?

Hi,
I'm talking about the lasts cvs commits :
- "iwlist eth1 scan" should show you a list of AP.
- "iwconfig eth1 channel 1" is a probably a bad idea since the channel =
order is strange. The 5,4 GHz channel seem to be listed before the =
2.4GHz (do a iwlist eth1 channel). Better use "iwconfig eth1 freq =
2.412". It might also not work since we don't really have doc on the =
device to be more precise.
- setoid, getoid are depreciated.

Without the chipset documentation I do not know if this is true.
