Hi Robbie


     There are two series of chipsets - the prism 2/2.5/3 series and the prism 5 series. The HostAP software is designed to work with the PRISM 2/2.5/3 series of chipsets and Prism54 is designed to work with PRISM  5 series of chipsets. As is the case with different chipsets, these two have completely different interfaces for communication with the driver, and thus you cannot use HostAP with Prism 5 or vice versa.


     In terms of capability, both are the same, except for the fact that AFAIK HostAP is only for 802.11b devices whereas PrismGT is for 802.11b/g devices.
