(I'am sorry, my englih is poor ...)

Just my experience for others users with same hardware and software ;)

My system :
- NetGear WG511 (PCMCIA)
- NetGear WG602 (AP)
- Mandrake 9.2
- kernel 2.4.23

Firmware : 1.0.4.3

My system is open (security).

My /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 :
DEVICE=3Deth1
BOOTPROTO=3Ddhcp
ONBOOT=3Dyes

MODE=3DManaged
ESSID=3DNETGEAR

Comment this line in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-wireless :
#iwconfig $DEVICE key off

It' very important. Why ????
Without commenting on this, i get :
Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00

Halt your system and reboot.

It's ok for me :)))
