Hi,

I was not able to use the wireless extension tools (iw*) to change the
settings for a Intersil GT Mini-PCI card (for instance, iwconfig eth1 essid
myssid, does not work, and an error message was given like "Error for
wireless request (SET ESSID (8B1A). SET failed on device eth1; Invalid
argument.).

The driver I am using was downloaded from the old forum with a version of
1.0.1.0. The linux kernel is 2.4.22 (the wireless extension version is 15).
I noticed that the development on this new forum was focused on 2.4.23-pre*.

I want to know whether
1. the wireless extension only works for the PCMCIA card, but not for
Mini-PCI card?
2. should I switch to the prism54 driver for this to work?

Thanks,

JP
