Yes, this is in an old pentium III system (1GHz).

I have a slow (1.8GHz) PIV, but the card won't fit in, so i won't be
able to test in this one...

Maybe the problem is with very fast machines -- you seem to be on the
very high-end... Could someone having the problem of the card not
initializing properly report on the specs of his machines ?

Have you tried playing with the IO delays in the part loading the
firmware ?
