With Debian unstable and 2.6.10 I have this problem. The wg511 card loses the
connection to a wg602v1 with 128-bit WEP. It doesn't just lose the connection
during high traffic (though that exasperates the condition), but will
periodically (every 3-4 hours) lose the connection under no/litle use.

My solution so far is a cron job forcing ifdown and ifup every 5 minutes.

As a side note, ifup produces this:
Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) :
    SET failed on device eth1 ; Input/output error.
