Cool :). So that's why p54u_control_msg(sc, p54u_mode_send, 
sizeof(p54u_mode_send)) flashes the LED on my device, the "send mode" packet 
was in fact a led blink packet...

Have you tried logs from forged packets sent from Windows ?

Apart from implementing a "jacky" private ioctl ....;-)
More seriously, documentation on such simple packets should be useful for the 
reader to understand how more complicated packets are built. I can assure you 
I have a difficult time understanding the "Protocol decoding" section on your 
website :/
