It worked for me. Are you running on non-x86 architecture ? There is indeed an 
endianness incompatibility in the firmware end detection...
Nevertheless, I put the firmware of the device online at

The firmwares are identical in the two .SYS files.
The version number is indeed very strange. It was built later than the 2.7.0 
firmware, and it doesn't include the new "bra", according to the 
closed-source UMAC library from Conexant (by the way, I have trouble sending 
packets with it, it must be put into some internal state before and my device 
won't accept the provided 2.7.0 firmware - seems to require an ISL3887 to 
work over USB...)
Moreover, if this device is actually Prism Frisbee based, why the hell does it 
run a SoftMAC firmware ?
