hi,
currently i'm exeriencing the same problem.
i'm using a SMC8202W card with latest CVS driver from (06.09.2004) [got the
http-cvs-download] as patch with kernel 2.4.27; the patch applies fine and
comiles clean.
i tried several different firmware versions (1.0.4.3, 1.0.3.0, 0.8.0.0) an the
one shipped with my card (just copied the firmware file from a windows
installation).
but: i get the messages like this as soon as is power up the card with "ifconfig
eth1 up"

any hints? could this problem be busmaster related?
