This very tight sync with the kernel driver is not neccessary IMO, the
development can continue in similar way it been so far, syncing in both
directions when it makes sense. There is some experince gained around
the prism54.org, its the best public base for the development, retiring
is not an option ;)

In this highly development state it doesnt matter which driver is used
as the base, as long as people actively hacking on it will be able to
share their patches.

Im really excited by ability to sniff the USB traffic, it offers great
opportunity to improve even the PCI driver!
