Background: WG511 card on an IBM T20, with linux 2.6.6 standard prism54 driver
(this is a debian built kernel).

If my Netgear WG511 card is inserted on initial power up, it is detected and
when I ifup it (an arbitrary amount of time later) it always works. The card
stays up reliably for hours, transferring hundreds of megs of data with no issues.

However, if I remove it for any period of time (more than 10 seconds or so) I
can no longer load the firmware. Increasing the timeout at
/sys/class/firmware/timeout does not help.

The error message is the much reported:
request_firmware() failed for 'isl3890'

pciutils version is:  2.1.11
hotplug version is: 0.0.20040329

The behaviour has been consistent for a number of months, across multiple
pcituils, hotplug and kernels.
