I have noticed that this even happens while the card is idle. The following
command causes the segmentation fault within 1 second on my system:

while [ 1 ]; do iwconfig eth0; done

There also seems to be some debug output from the prism54 module:

mgt_get_request(0x12000001): received data length was bigger than expected (21 >
 4). Memory is probably corrupted...
