This trap
  TRAP: oid 0xff020003, device 3, flags 0x0 length 4
is very fishy.

It means that we got a OID_INL_MODE ack without a request waiting
for it.  That should not happen.  I've checked in a rework of the low-level
mgmt frame handling, could you please try out whether it changes anything
for you?
