Hello,

I'm using a WG511 PCMCIA W-Lan card with Linux kernel 2.6.

My AP sends 10 beacons/second. I have put my card into monitor mode and watched
the beacons with tcpdump (and kismet). As soon as I move further away from the
AP (a few meters and a few walls are enough) the number of received
beacons/second quickly drops until it reaches zero!

However, if I put the card back into managed mode, 'iwlist ethx scan' still
finds the AP and shows pretty good signal quality (I still get connected to the
AP at 36Mbps), while in monitor mode it doesn't receive a single beacon anymore!

Could it be that there is something wrong with the monitor mode?
