Well, how about this - I can work up a patch that puts a comment line
before all the ifdef's that should be removed (KERNEL_VERS, FW_LOAD etc).
Something like this :
/* MUSTREMOVE - Before kernel submission, we must remove this !! */
When the developers are ready to submit, they can grep for MUSTREMOVE and
chuck out the code.
We should/must keep it in during this development/testing phase to ease
it's use by users (eg, look at the number of posts re. undefined 
(req/rel)_firmware)
Also, at the moment, the developers have one common source that they can
concentrate upon.
