Well, I bought two usb cables so that the connexion scheme is :

computer <-> 1st cable <-> 2nd link <-> device

and i unplug / replug between the two cable, which i found to be
disposable hardware (my powerbook's plug's not, nor is, though to a
lesser extent, the stick's usb plug).
