Sorry, i thought the command was changed from scan to scanning because one build of the driver I used only worked when i used scanning.

I just compiled stable 2.6.0 with the latest CVS version of the prism54 driver yesterday (Dec. 18) and they both work perfectly for me. The recent changes to the driver are great. Allow mode changes (between monitor and managed) to work perfectly. Previously it would crash the driver or the entire kernel for me.

Not sure what your problem is, sorry. However on a total random train of thought. In my dmesg output, I see the follwing:

eth0: islpci_open()
eth0: resetting device...
eth0: uploading firmware...
cs: IO port probe 0x0c00-0x0cff: clean.
cs: IO port probe 0x0100-0x04ff: excluding 0x3f8-0x3ff
cs: IO port probe 0x0a00-0x0aff: clean.
eth0: firmware uploaded done, now triggering reset...
eth0: prism54_mib_init()
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7.
eth0: done with prism54_mib_init()! -- Client Managed mode

I don't see any prism54_mib_init() in what you pasted. I'm not sure if that only happens when setting the mode of the driver. My initialization script does the following:

ifconfig eth0 up
iwconfig eth0 essid "myid"
iwconfig eth0 key firstkey
iwconfig eth0 key [2] secondkey
iwconfig eth0 key [3] thirdkey
iwconfig eth0 key [4] fourthkey
dhcpcd eth0

I assume setting the essid automatically sets the mode to managed. None of this probably helps at all. Sorry. Wish I could help more.
